FAMILY PORTRAIT SESSION – BOOKING INFORMATION
I’d be delighted to capture your family portraits. My aim is to make your experience fun, relaxed & stress free! Please take a moment to read through all of the booking information to assist you in preparing for your photo session. THE PHOTO SESSION
What to expect from your photo session
A fun and relaxed and photo session either outdoors or at your family home and grounds. I aim to capture natural and informal photos concentrating more on the fun and interactive moments during a session. I’ll take a range of group combinations so you have a variety of photos.
Location
Here are a few favourite location ideas that I use regularly for outdoor photo sessions:
- Longleat forest (Shearwater & Heaven’s gate)
- Bradford on Avon (Country park & tithe barn)
- Lacock village (village location)
- Bath city (Sydney Gardens & Henrietta park)
- Fonthill Gifford (Lake & woodland areas)
- Nadder Valley (woodland area)
If you have a specific location in mind then I’d be happy to discuss this with you. Photo sessions can also take place in your home.
Time
Often the best time of day for your photo session will be early in the morning or late in the afternoon depending on the time of year. I work with natural light and want to ensure the best possible results for your images. The natural light between these times can often be too harsh.
Your photo session time will be allocated depending on the time of year. We’ll arrange this at the point of booking. If we are shooting with a newborn or young baby indoors at home then preferred session times are in the morning.
Length of photo session
Photo sessions times can vary depending on the type of session you have booked. Outdoor family sessions are 45 minutes (please allocate up to an hour). Extended family sessions are up to 90 minutes and home photo sessions are up to 90 minutes.

Payment
The session fee payment will be due at the time of booking.
Weather
As we photograph our location sessions outside we are very weather dependant! We can still have a fun photo shoot in most weather conditions. However, if more extreme weather is forecast, I’ll be in contact on the morning to rearrange with no extra charge.
Cancellations
Should in the unlikely event that you have to cancel your session at short notice then we will always look to re-arrange to a suitable date. We will not charge you for re-arranging on the first occasion. Hereafter, we may need to take a further deposit to secure another booking.
Children
To get the most out of your session, make sure that your little ones have rested and had adequate snacks and water. We can take breaks for snacks and play/rest, however I will probably still shoot during the breaks. If required then please bring dry, non- messy snacks so they stay clean during the session.
It’s best to let your children be themselves for the session so that it can be an enjoyable experience. Don’t worry if they go a little wild! Sometimes these active shots can be the best. Bribes can be helpful if absolutely necessary, however please don’t put too much pressure on them to smile and pose – We love to capture natural photos.
What to wear
When planning what to wear please think about comfort and practicality. For our outdoor sessions there will be times when we are walking between locations. At certain times of the year these locations can get quite muddy so come prepared with suitable footwear. We have no strict guidelines on outfit choices, it’s best to be yourself – so if casual is your thing then plan around this style!
AFTER YOUR PHOTO SESSION
Web gallery
After your photo session I’ll edit the very best of your photos and present them on a web gallery for viewing within 7 days of your session. Your web gallery will remain live for 3 months.
Copyright
You are granted permission to print your photos for personal use. The copyright of photographs remains with the photographer. Selling, Publication or any Commercial use of the photographs is not allowed.
Refunds
Unfortunately as all of our products are bespoke we cannot offer any refunds.
